The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork.
I have always been fascinated with God's creation. I love to look up at the stars on a cloudless night, or watch the clouds go by during the day. Sunrises and sunsets paint the most beautiful pictures in the sky. Its amazing how God created all of it. With His word, God created all of it.
Psalm 19 clearly points out that God created it all to declare His glory. Even before God created Adam and Eve, all of creation was praising Him. They weren't necessary singing "Holy, Holy, Holy," but they were pointing to the power and the glory of God. That is essentially what praising God is. We praise God by pointing to Him and bringing Him glory.
God gives us all of His creation to remind us of His glory and cause us to worship Him. When we're driving in fall and we see the colorful leaves, God is reminding us of His glory. That is just one of many examples of things that we can see in nature. The point is that we are often too busy to look. And in the end I'm not saying that you're too busy to look at flowers and trees and clouds. I'm saying that we're all too busy to look for God.
We're all so busy trying to live our lives, that we often don't stop to look for Him. We don't look for ways in which He wants us to serve Him. We don't notice the things He gives us to encourage us. We miss the all good things that He has given us. We get so busy trying to get more of what life has to offer, when we should look and take note of what God has already given.
We have life. We have Him. We have friends. We have family. We have countless blessings in our lives that we overlook. What are you overlooking? When was the last time you took note of God's creation? What, in creation, reminds you that we worship an awesome God? Comment below and share your responses. Take time this week to look. Look around at what God has given you and thank Him.
